Step 2: Download the APK File

On the official website:

Tap “立即下载” (Download Now) or “Try imToken”

Select “Android APK” or “下载 Android 安装包”

Tap “Download” to begin the download

Step 3: Locate the Downloaded File

After downloading, find the APK file in your browser‘s download manager. On most Android browsers, tap the menu icon and select “Downloads” (usually indicated by a ⤓ icon).

File size check: The official imToken APK is typically between 60MB and 80MB. If your downloaded file is significantly smaller or larger, it may be counterfeit.

How to Verify the APK‘s Authenticity

Before installing, you should verify that the APK file is genuine. Counterfeit apps are a major risk in the crypto space and can lead to asset theft.

Method: SHA256 Hash Verification

imToken provides official SHA256 hash values for verification. To check your APK:

Place the downloaded APK file on your desktop and rename it to check.apk

Open a terminal (on Mac: Launchpad → Other → Terminal) and enter:

Run the SHA256 checksum command for your operating system

Compare the resulting hash with the official SHA256 value published on imToken‘s website

If the hash values match, the APK is authentic and safe to install.

Installation Instructions

Android devices often show security warnings when installing APKs from outside the Google Play Store. This is normal behavior. As long as you downloaded the APK from the official website (), it is safe to proceed.

General Android Devices

Open the downloaded imToken APK file

If prompted, enable “Install from unknown sources” or “Allow installation of unknown apps”

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation

Return to your home screen to find and open imToken

Huawei Devices

HarmonyOS 2/3/4:

Go to Settings → System & Updates → Pure Mode and turn off “Enhanced Protection”

Check “I understand this app has not been tested and may have risks” and tap “Continue Install”

Tap “Open” when installation completes

In “Choose how to open”, select “Zhuoyitong” to open

Tap “Understand the risks” → check “I understand this app has risks” → tap “Install Anyway”

Tap “Open” when done

Note: Zhuoyitong is an official Huawei tool for compatibility with Android apps.

Xiaomi Devices

If a security warning appears, tap “Continue Downloading”

Open the APK from your browser‘s downloads and “Allow” the browser to install apps

Tap “Continue Install” → “Ignore Risk and Continue” → “Continue”

If system authorization is required, tap the three-dot menu → “Single Install Authorization” and complete verification

Find and open imToken on your home screen

OPPO Devices

Open the downloaded APK from your browser‘s downloads

Follow the on-screen installation prompts

What to Do If You Cannot Access the Website

If your phone‘s default browser cannot access or download from token.im:

Try a different browser such as Edge, Firefox, or Chrome

Enter the URL manually in the address bar: 

Critical warning: Do not search for “imToken download” on Baidu, Sougou, Quark, or other search engines. Search results often lead to fake websites designed to steal your assets.

Critical Security Rules

imToken will never ask for your private keys or seed phrases — anyone who does is a scammer

Back up your seed phrase offline — write it down on paper or use a physical backup device. Never store it digitally or online

imToken is a decentralized wallet — it does not store or manage your private keys or seed phrases. If you lose them, imToken cannot recover them

Always verify the source — double-check that you are on  before downloading

If You Already Have a Fake Version Installed

Before installing the official imToken app, uninstall any fake imToken apps on your phone. Otherwise, the genuine app may fail to install.

iOS Users

If you‘re an iOS user, download imToken from the App Store by clicking “App Store” on the official website. Make sure the developer is IMTOKEN PTE.LTD. — all other imToken apps are counterfeit.

If you see “App Not Available”, imToken is not listed in your Apple ID‘s region. You will need to use a non-mainland China Apple ID to download it.
